“The residential homes of the city Leninakan are rather different from those in Yerevan. First of all, they are well adapted to the severe climate of Shirak plain. The buildings here are built mainly of local black tuff and they are one storied with solid setup. They are mainly attractive with their extraordinary rich carved facades. The craftsmen who were wonderful engravers had used diverse skills and creativeness for decorating the building facades richly, while making tracery setups, ornamental stone openwork and original cornices or delicately patterned stone gutters. Here one can see also impressively decorated solemn gates.”
